Brewery Vivant concepted an eclectic weekend event featuring two limited bottle releases and food pairings. The designs needed to match the eccentric ingredients bottled inside, so the project began with an alternative form of sketching.
Printed words associated with the event were used as a starting point to fold, bend, collage, and finally scan the results back into the computer while abstracting them. By moving the words across a scanner at different speeds and directions, the forms began to distort.
Around 500 bottles of beer were filled and released. The two resulting beers were titled Ultima Thule (Wild Sour Stout, 6.9% ABV) & Wild Escoffiberry (Sour Ale with Blackberry and Sage, 11% ABV).
